1967 Heater/Air Cond water shut off valve

Does anyone have a NOS water control valve they would be willing to let go or know of a source for a correct appearing reproduction one? All the regular vendors no longer have the brass style as they were discontinued. No luck on flea bay. The replacement style being offered is not close at all and doesn't have a place for attachment to the air conditioning housing bracket. Would a NOS still be good after sitting around for years? Thanks for the help!! Al

Al, search for the part on eBay as "water shutoff (corvette, chevrolet, pontiac, oldsmobile, cadillac,fo rd,chrysler)" remember Frigidaire was one of the very few parts suppliers for all the car manufacturers. My backup for my 63, dated 4 63, works just fine. It is a simple test.

    Good Luck

      Check out these guys

http://ecatalog.smpcorp.com/fs/#/searchparts < In this link click on the white product category search box (lower left). This will show all

products. Scroll to "heater valves" then click the blue search box below it. Then narrow down by clicking on vehicle make, then vehicle year. While these may not be NOS or even correct in appearance they will get you a functioning heater bypass for your AC car. Make sure you know whether yours is a N.O. or a N.C. valve.

        Al:

The original for our C2 cars was made by Dole Mfg. Company. LICS still sells a VERY CLOSE reproduction. Part # 35-26B. Here is the link. http://www.parts123.com/parts123/yb....Z5Z5Z50000370a

Originals come up every so often on Ebay. Also try David S and David Crane in California for originals.

My original still works after 50 years, so NOS should be okay. These C2 valves require vacuum to OPEN. They are normally closed when engine is off.

I purchased a LICS valve as a spare. Just in case the original dies.

Thanks Larry, I checked the LICS site and they are closed through Jan 1st. David S. does have both used and NOS valves for sale, just an approx. shipping time frame of approx. 2 weeks from the time I would send the MO across the country to him and get it back to me, N.C. to Cal. and back, but I do not have my engine back from the shop yet, so that may not be a major issue on holding me up on re-installation. So much easier to get to it with everything out of the way, isn't it? Thanks everyone for the replies.

Harry, The ones you referenced on Ebay are like the one that is currently on the car. It definitely would be a quicker turn around and a lot cheaper than the NOS. Decisions, decisions!!
