67' big block 390 ballast resistor marking

Purchased a new ballast resistor and there are two negative marks on the top terminal. Does anyone know what this means? With my old wire harness there were two red wires attached to the resistor; one on top and one on bottom. With my new wire harness from ELECTRIC LIMITED they only have one red wire going to the top terminal on the resistor. Any thoughts?

Dave not sure about the ballast markings, but the ballast is not polarized. There is a specific way it mounts which is shown in UPC 12 Sheet A8, and UPC 6.

Those wires to the Ballast are actually dark Pink. The lower 12 gauge Pink comes from the IGN switch power from the MAIN harness. The upper Ballast Pink wire is in the FORWARD/ENGINE harness. This is a 12 gauge Pink which goes to the Ignition Coil +. At that terminal, there is also a smaller 18 gauge Pink wire which goes to the Starter Solenoid "R" terminal. This provide full battery voltage during Crank.

If your NEW harness is the ENGINE/FORWARD harness, there will be only one 12 G Pink to the top terminal of the Ballast. The other 12 G Pink to the bottom terminal of the Ballast is from the MAIN harness. This wire comes out of the big firewall grommet near the wiper motor along with the wiper motor wires.

PS My head is a little fuzzy as I got sick after coming home from the Winter Regional so I may have some of this wrong.
