If there is no rust or corrosion, I use Simple Green to ensure that it gets clean and then periodically wipe some Prelube 6 on the pad. No matter how well you store your car, you will still need to keep after it. I find that Prelube 6 is thicker and handles heat better. There is also a Prelube 19 that is designed for exhaust components.

Ed, I am not guessing. I know who restored that car and he told me that he simply used wd 40 and rubbed it with a towel.

Steve if you zoom in on the pad without the fuel line in the way the pad shows all scratches marks gone and and all broach line all been restore and looks great and campare to the other pad

Danny, the scratches are still there. I just think that the flash used for that pic makes them less noticeable. I used a samsung galaxy 5 smart phone with the flash on to snap that pic. I gave it to the seller when he listed the car for the Florida auction.

Well whatever was done really clean up that pad really good , I guess WD40 did the trick , thanks Steve
