    78 Spark Plug Wires

I have a 78 Pace Car produced April 3, 1978 with less than 600 miles. The Judging guide says it is possible to have spark plug wires that were manufactured in different quarters. I have two types of plug wires.
Packard Delcore Electronic Suppression 8mm with black printing dated 1Q78
Packard Electronic Suppression 8mm with white printing dated 4Q77

Both types are grey in color with blk boots and heads. Is it possible these are all original wires?

Very possible. In your case, a virtual certainty. Keep in mind that in PRODUCTION the wires were not installed from sets. Each individual wire had a separate part number and was supplied in bulk on the assembly line. So, there was no guarantee that every car would get a "date-matched" set. In fact, even in SERVICE sets there could be the kind of date "discrepancy" you describe.

      Thanks Joe!
Interesting info about them not coming in sets on the production line.

Dave...........just a fyi. I also have a 3,000 mi Pace Car born March 31,1978 with the same plug wire situation. Mine are in fact originals as Joe speculates with yours.
