I replaced rear wiring harness and antenna cable without too much difficulty. I mounted retaining clips on rear lights and had no trouble with securing ground wires. When installing ground wire and clip to license plate light I couldn't find any way to mount either the clip or my ground to light assembly. Could someone give me direction on how and where they are attached.

Re: rear wiring harness
Did you attach using the same type of nut as used on the tail lights. The stem that is attached to the tail lights gives you almost 3/8 of a stem that allows you to put ground wire or clip and attach nut. The screws that attach light for license plate fixture are too short to get anything on. Maybe I have incorrect screws. The screw size is definitely too small to get same size nut as used on tail lights. Also the gas tank is in my car. I have no idea how you could reach license plate fixture without removing gas tank.- Top

Re: rear wiring harness
I took these this summer while restoring my 66. The 2nd picture shows the sequence of the "center" screw with the ground wire.

Re: rear wiring harness
By looking at the picture it appears the clip and ground wire are attached to a screw that is not part of the actual license plate light fixture. Those screws are much smaller. I will inspect mine tonight. I do have the spare tire tub out and didn't think I could possible reach the unit. If wire and clip are attached to a separate screw not a part of the light assembly I could reach with assembly out.- Top

Re: rear wiring harness
Walter....no, that is the original screw and is one of 3 holding the light assembly in place. I see two things messing you up. First, the shiny thing in the first picture should not be there. That is one of the broken heads (L logo) off my gas fill neck which I had to remove to get the rusty gas tank out. The head broke off and fell down there I guess.
The 2nd picture is all original. That is a big flat washer, not the head. Here is a picture of the same assembly from the side. The screw is the center screw with tapered head like the other two screws that hold the license light housing in place. I had a hard time getting them out as they were rusted badly. Order is: screw, housing, big thin washer, toothed washer, ground wire, wire loop, nut.
