1967 JUDGES or whomever Powerglide Mystery Ground

A question has come to me by way of a picture I took in 90-91 while disassembling my wife's 1 owner 67 327-300 with powerglide. In pictures I took with the transmission out of the car, there is a ground strap that is visible in all of the caked up oil/grease. This ground strap goes between the passing gear kickdown lever and the shifting lever on the side of the transmission. It is attached to the shifting lever with a small screw and appears to slide onto the kickdown lever with a U style clamp (much like the chassis to the driver's side body mount plate). I overlooked this in the original reassembly of the car, probably because there was not one in the ground strap kit. I've looked back through my boxes of stuff I took off the car during disassembly and can't find one like this. It must have been left on the transmission when it was sent out to be rebuilt and the rebuilder never reinstalled it. I can't find one listed in aftermarket catalogues or in the AIM. Serial # is 115** and car was probably 90-95% untouched, usual belts, hoses, plugs, etc. Does this ground exist on other 67s with powerglides?, If so, where does one find a correct ground for it?

Is this a complete mystery to the 67 judging team.

Al, does the AIM show the strap any where. You really need to look at another power guide car. was it a typical copper braided ground strap? this strap is likely not a judged Item if it cannot be viewed from the bottom or top.

Edward, as previously mentioned, it is not shown in the AIM. The picture I have of it on the transmission shows it covered in oil/grease muck. I would assume it is copper as it appears to be braided and is much like the chassis to driver side mount ground strap, only much wider. The width appears to be approx. the width of the shifter lever on the transmission (3/4-1"). It would also be visible on inspection when the car is placed on a 4 post lift. If I can figure out how to post a picture, I will do so later today/night. Thanks for your response on this. BTW, I don't know of anyone else in my area with a 67 PG car, especially one that would be unrestored or at the least with the transmission rebuilt. Al
