    Mark,
See if this picture helps at all. That's a tough one to get a clear shot of.

      Re: Holly 4150 issues

Thanks for the info and pic guys.

Mine seems to be a little different than Leif's. Without seriously twisting the spring, I don't see what the square end of the spring clips onto (on the throttle arm). See pic. Seems like Leif's is a little different allowing that square end to clip into the arm. I'll check it out tomorrow when the light is better.

      Thanks again. Mark

        Mark,
The pic I provided is from my 4160 on my '67...there may be a slight difference to your 4150 but I was hoping the spring end areas were the same.

(Back after a couple of weeks)
Thanks guys. Regarding the spring I was mentioning, yes Leif's, and some other, comments were right. That spring does wrap w a y down under the throttle arm. I was just worried about over stretching it, but it seems to be fine. I'm thinking that the spring being off wasn't the cause of the carb issues (which is the real problem). I would love to find out it fixed the real problem, but I doubt it (real problem is, when even under a little load, the motor falls flat like its running out of gas. Idles and revs perfect in garage). Carb still off car, will put back on this week. We'll see if spring was it.......

Q: anyone know where to get the felt-type (not plastic) fuel-bowl BOLT gaskets that interface with the bowl (gaskets interfaces with the bolt head and fuel bowl, about 3/8" OD, 1/4" ID (or so))? I have poor luck getting the plastic gaskets to seal well even with a good amount of torque. (No leaks on either side of the metering block, those gaskets are fine). I got gaskets from Holley that they said "were not the plastic type" twice. Both times - plastic. Went to NAPA, "yes we'll order the felt-type ones", they ordered them - plastic. Anyone ?

          Thanks
