Where did the body on 53 #211 come from and when was the body replaced?

No available answer to either question. The car was part of a group of cars purchased by Terry in Florida (?) and it is unclear when it was replaced - but prior to that purchase.

YES! That is exactly what I am saying. No question EX-87 existed (styling) before it was turned over to Chevrolet Engineering October 28, 1954.
Log book shows WO 19025-9 dated Nov. 10, 1954 Research installed Corvette brake shoes #3694877 & 3694878 etc. I believe I can explain the entire history of EX-87 & 399 etc. but too long to lay out on this thread. The log book currently in 399 was originally found inside the side pocket of the EX-87 body left there by Engineering. It was kept by a former owner and eventually sold to John Hayes who acquired 399 and ultimately caused a lot of current confusion that exists today. The original log book acquired by Hayes was not complete and I supplied copies of some missing pages I had acquired from Frank Burrell. Frank was the Chevrolet Engineer who took 5951 & 6001 (a pass. car) to Phoenix for testing in December 1955.
