    John,

Nothing's off. As previously stated, the Shipping Data Report is the date the Plant declared your car manufactured for management reporting.

That doesn't necessarily mean it was actually completed that day.

Does "Declared" mean assumed or after all final testing is completed>(Ready to be loaded on Rail-Car or Truck)? Larry

        Mike McCagh,

In your opinion, would 11/7 Engine Assembly date work for VIN 3237 on a 63? Trim tag is second week Nov. Cast date is 10/23

let me get this straight: block cast oct 23rd, 1962. machine assembled on nov 7th, 1962 and car built(guesstimate) between nov 5th and 9th, 1962. since NCRS judges are supposed to give the owner the benefit of doubt, I'd not deduct(hoping the car was built on the 8th or 9th). I would however, spend a good deal of time analyzing the broach marks and shape/spacing of the alpha-numerics on the pad. mike

                Hey Mike,

No you already judged my car in Altoona this year. We had the debate over my pad which I'm still convinced is correct. I'm going to Bloomington with it in June. I've hired some folks to look at they agree. This thread was for a friend of mine that is trying to determine if his car is correct. We're pretty sure it is. the shipping report of the 7th is what threw us off which was the same date as the engine assembly code. If the shipping data report isn't the day the car came off the line then that explains it for us. Thanks for your time and quick response. hope you're well.

                Cheers.
