    N11 Mufflers

    I just received the 6th edition 1965 Corvette Technical Information Manual and Judging Guide and have a question regarding the "off road assembly" stencil. The guide shows a stencil different than what I have seen on factory original mufflers. The ones I've see are two lines the first being OFF ROAD and the second line ASSEMBLY. And they have been on the top of the muffler (in yellow) yet the guide says bottom and the OFF ROAD ASSY - all one line.

    Also can someone decode the GM part number I have for a set of over the counter N11's which is GM followed by 3845736 (second line) followed by 1 281 7 A (third line). I'm presuming A is for Arvin?

    Thanks

    Re: N11 Mufflers

    Should read like this the year most likely is 1977 or later.

    1= First Shift
    281= Julian date
    7= Year 1967, 1977, 1987
    A= Arvin
