1966 era Corvette racing modification document/manual

I've been told by an old time racer that there was a document/manual written or supplied by Chevrolet Engineering that listed chassis modifications and Super Duty parts that were available. This is basically a "Blueprint" for race teams to help them modify their car to better compete on the race tracks. Are there any members out there that might have a copy of this. I believe I have seen a few pages listing HD or SD engine parts, cams, valves, springs etc. But I have never seen anything for chassis mods. The info I have is some front crossmember stiffening, rear end and trailing arm mods along with other small details. The mechanic for the Alan Green 66 Racer also told me about a rear under car deflector he developed to help cool the rear end. I'm told this modification also made it's way into that document after it was seen by a Chevrolet engineer.

Any help with this is greatly appreciated. Joe

Never seen anything earlier than 1969. There was a booklet published with a lot of info then, I will see if I can dig mine up.

Dick, I have seen the 66 HD and SD engine parts pages but have not seen the entire document/manual. There is some cool stuff there. Gear drive cam part numbers, HD valves and springs. Special crankshafts and balancers. I have those pages here but just the engine stuff. I'm trying to find the chassis section.

        Thanks for the help!!

I'm not sure of the name. But it was definitely a Chevrolet document.

Yes, it's a GM originated document. A guide to preparing the car for HD (Race) use. This doc was generated by Chevrolet Engineering and included part numbers for all the HD racing parts available at the time.

I recall seeing such a document when I was a Pontiac production engineer in 1968. It was a photocopy of a typed document. It later became clear that this was an early draft of what eventually became the Chevrolet Power Manuals of the seventies.

Thanks Stewart! I'll send you an Email later. Bud is supposed to be sending me all his notes he saved from the 66 Racing season. I want to compare those to the items in the Chevrolet document.
