    Where do these go?

    Hey guys,

Can anyone look at the picture attached and tell me where these pieces go? I'm guessing interior trim somewhere.

    Thanks,
    Mike

Mike those are interior quarter trim retainers should be body color, you would see those in the back edge of the door jam and they would screw into the plastic interior quarter panels.

Ok so mine are black because the car is black. So should I paint them the same time the car is painted so the match perfectly the body color or were they painted separately at the factory? If so what shade of black? Semi-gloss, satin, semi-flat???

Also can you tell me where these go? I'm guessing something similar to the others but not sure.

            Hey Mike
Yes, paint it at the same time you paint the car, should be painted body color, I'm not sure what the process was at the factory concerning this particular part. Attached photo from my original 1974 Corvette.

Thanks Rich. Again can you tell me where the other piece in the pic I posted above goes and should it also be painted when the car is painted?

The "other" piece you mention is the top section to the first pieces in your post. There are a pair (LH, RH) for each interior quarter trim piece. IIRC, the lower edge of the top section (smaller) piece tucks under the upper edge of the lower (longer) piece.

                Make sense?

                  Hi Mike

Don is on it, look at the pic I posted you'll see as Don said the short piece (which appears to be lighter in color) tucks under the long piece, it's a set.

Yes guys now I see. Thanks guys that makes sense. Since your upper is a different color should I try and investigate what shade black my upper one is or should I just paint both of them black when I paint the car?

Both pieces are the same color black (in your case), in my photo they look different because of the lighting but in reality they are both the same metallic grey, paint them exactly the same.
