Having a problem getting a clutch for my 1965 327 365HP. Car is original NCRS 2nd flight. Does anyone have any pictures of original clutch pressure plate and throw out bearing. Having trouble finding the correct one.

Re: 1965 clutch
Purchased from Paragon about 5 years ago. Has held up fine. Believe it was made by '"Luk". This is not a judged component, so quality more important than originality. Beware, it will feel different with new assembly, but you will get used to it.- Top

Re: 1965 clutch
The original pressure plate assembly for your application was GM #3841673. It's long-since GM-discontinued and you'd play hell finding one. The original clutch release bearing was GM #907538. It has been superseded several times and is currently known as GM #19245400.
However, you can obtain what you need easily. Either LUK or Sachs make an OEM replacement clutch for your application. These are supplied in a kit which includes pressure plate assembly, friction disc, release bearing, pilot bushing, and installation tool. The Sachs part number is K167510 and is USA-manufactured. The LUK kit is 04-021. I would recommend either one for you assuming you want a stock-type clutch (which is the ONLY type I recommend for street use).In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: 1965 clutch
Bill,
I have an NOS clutch/pressure plate for a 1970 - 1972 LT-1. I don't know if it is the same application for your 1965 365, but if it is I will be happy to take some photos and post them. Thanks and please advise. - Ron"SOLID LIFTERS MATTER"- Top

Re: 1965 clutch
1970-72 LT-1 pressure plate is not the same as that used for any 1965 Corvette. The 1970-72 LT-1 pressure plate and friction disc, EXCEPT ZR-1, are 11". All 1963-65 Corvettes used a 10.4" pressure plate and disc.
1970-72 ZR-1 as well as 1967-69 L-88 and ZL-1 also used a 10.4" clutch but it was different, both pressure plate and friction disc, from the other 1963-68 10.4" clutches. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
