    56 engine indentification stamping charcteristcs

Hi, doing some research here, Can someone post some pictures or
describe the characteristics of 1956 engine identification stampings?

Looking for characteristics and shapes of the 5 & 6.
How many different types of the 6 are known to exist?

For the serial number stamping, are there variations in the numbers that were used?
Or do the shapes and characteristics have consistency in the characteristics?

JG states that characters should appear in 5-1-1-5 sequence & that some original cars
appear to be stamped individually, IE individual stamping of the characters are possible.

Hence, Was the F56xy (xy=suffix codes) stamping always done in 1 gang holder? Are any individually stamped
characters for the broadcast stamp known to exist? Has anyone seen the F56yx stamping done individually, on a known original car/block?

Thanks in advance for any help and thoughts on this subject!..

    Tony
