Re: 1962 corvette headers
I see your dilema. I just looked through a few of the big name header manufacturer web sites and don't see anything for C1 Corvettes. Also I don't see any refference to straight or angled plug for the ones listed for other Chevys. I have seen where some recommend the same header for C1s as used on the '55-'57 Chevys. I have never tried this. The Doug Thorley Tri Y headers would give extra clearance though. I used to run Tri Y back when and they made a lot of low and mid range power where your 383 will live most of it's life. I think your best bet is to contact the header manufacturers directly for thir recommendation and availability. Then shop price at the parts houses like Summit and Jegs. I have found some parts to actually cheaper from the manufacturer than a distributor. It's rare but worth checking.

Hedman Headers and Hooker Headers still make headers for C1's. Not sure about the angle head application. I have Hedmans on my 62 with a 383 in it. Also have a Tremec 5-speed behind it. Makes for both street and cruising!

Welcome to Tech Board.
A few years back Super Chevy had a “Corvette Headers” issue (link below) that a least has a number of vendors. Especially note comments on fit. Helped with a 1972 body drop (big block) a couple of weeks back where owner insisted on side-exhaust headers running into a 5” collector. Looked nice, but fit to steering box / access to spark plugs / body clearance /etc was problematic. These headers could only be installed with body off. I know you’re not talking about side exhaust - point is give consideration to vendor comments for ease of fit, clearance, access to spark plugs, etc.

Re: 1962 corvette headers
For years I had a set of Tri Y headers on my 57 Corvette with angle plug heads. Tubes were close to the spark plug boots but they worked. Don't be afraid of denting the headers. I used the round end of a pall-peen hammer and hit it with another. That way I didn't miss. There is a great header basing YouTube video by Engine Masters. They beat the heck out of the header with very little loss of HP. A fun watch if nothing else.- Top

Re: 1962 corvette headers
Corvette Central Has a complete exhaust system for C1's with headers. I don't know if the headers are sold separately. I have set of Jardine 4 tube headers on my 59. They hang below the frame, so a little ground clearance is lost.- Top
