    C2 A/C C60 car question

Were any AOS bodies fitted for A/C or was A/C limited to St. Louis bodies? I can't find the answer but I may be looking in the wrong place.

Many AOS cars had factory air. My 1967 is one of them: Convertible, 327/350 HP with factory air (and no PS). VIN #14845.

Larry, thanks. The reason I asked is that there were special firewall changes to accomodate A/C. There were other C2 options that were limited to St. Louis cars and I was wondering if A/C was one of them.

Harry those modifications where done on the assembly line at St Louis They are crude at best. But how and where to cut is outlined in the AIM

My 67 coupe vin 15223 is an AO body with AC, PG, and 11 other options. The engine and trans are out of the car so firewall is open for observation and pics can be taken. This is an orig car having never been cut up or modified and the first time apart if you would like to see anything.

John, a picture, engine side, of the upper part of the hole showing the bracket and rivets. There should be three holes above the bracket that are open or filled with body putty.

Keith, correct, the modification was done on the body line and that was in the basement as I recall.

I have C60 in my 63, just gathering more knowledge.

I will be at the shop Friday afternoon and will snap a few pics and post tomorrow night. Do you want pics of the firewall on the pass side where the evaporator box is hung? I think all the ac parts are still hanging along with the hoses. The 67 AIM shows 3 sizes of holes: .28, .191/.199, and .50 dia. All the heater and ac boxes are still attached. I will photo several shots and hopefully I'll capture what you're asking for.

                  Harry ,

Here are three shots I have of bare firewalls . I have no clue who's cars they are or what options they have . However #1 and #3 appear to be AO Smith bodies .
Just added pictures for your perusal. Hope they help .

                    Good Morning Harry,

Here's some shots of my '66 St. Louis body AC firewall undergoing extensive front clip work. As far as I know it's the same as an A.O. Smith car factory AC modification. These firewall shots are of my original with minor fiberglass fill/sanding done by me. Easy to spot where I worked.
What's huge here are the closeups of the correct factory placement of all nut-plates/holes/J-clips. Compare to the AIM. Hope this helps. Mike
