    1963 Seat hold down bolts

    I wasn't the one that removed the bolts out but according to the packaging these are the seat belt bolts;

    JM lists black oxide plating was used on the bolts but what was on the brackets the seats slip into at the rear?
    Am I am correct the rear seat bracket hold down bolts are only threaded into the fiberglass?
    I can find no evidence of the back (underside) of the car having any type of nut installed there?
    Here is a picture of the underside of the car. Seems to have threads in the fiberglass.
    This is on the outboard side only. A steel reinforcement piece with nuts is attached under the car for the inboard side.

    There are flat rectangle plates that go on top the fiberglass and then a couple brackets are bolted on top.
    Were the plates plated with anything? Painted or even raw steel?
    Thanks
    Rick

    Re: 1963 Seat hold down bolts

    Rick,

    The bolt you pictures looks correct. On a 63 the plate under the car for the front seat bolts is riveted to the car and painted black. For the rear seat bolts there is a nut plate (inboard) riveted to the car and natural steel. On the outboard side there is a nut plate not riveted to the car. It was held in place by hand by the lineman as he installed the top bracket (inside the car) and the two bolts. Best I recall the outboard plate was painted black. No seat bolts were bolted into the fiberglass alone.
