    1966 427/390 A/C Dipstick Tube

Does the 66 427/390hp (L36) with factory AC (C60) have a longer oil dipstick tube to clear above the AC hoses or same as the non AC cars?
I have checked both a standard 427 dipstick tube and it is buried under an AC hose - I suspect either the hose may be in the wrong spot or the longer tube is correct. Did not spot this in the Assembly manual or judging manual. Thanks!

Hi Peter, I too have a 1966 L36 with A/C which I have owned for 50 years and my dip stick sits just below the inside hose on the rear of the compressor. Hope this helps.

Perfect - exactly as mine sits. Thanks for the confirmation

Only one dipstick tube was used for all 1965-69 Corvettes. This was GM #3870324.

During the 1970 model year a longer dipstick and dipstick tube was introduced for big block Corvettes, probably to solve the somewhat difficult access for A/C-equipped cars. However, from that time on, it was used for all big block Corvettes.

The longer dipstick and tube later became SERVICE for all 1965+ Corvette big blocks when used together. Of course, this is not NCRS-correct for the pre-1970 models. However, it's very possible that some 1965-69 Corvettes have been SERVICED with the longer dipstick and tube "somewhere along the way".
