Re: How long was your car apart?

I bought my 1966 in the Fall of 1979. I started dismantling it during Thanksgiving weekend of 1980, moved twice, and finally finished it in May 1995 except for installing the windows in the doors.........14.5 years. I never drive it on rainy days so the windows are still up in my garage attic, but don't worry, I will get to it.

My Black 1956 was apart when I bought it. I was apart for 23 years and moved four times to a new home. I brought it home and drove it three weeks later 325 miles to a chapter meet in Montreal. On the other hand our 1966 Duntov car was done in 25 weeks.

Found the 57 270HP in 1999. It was body off complete ground up. Top flighted in 2002, Duntov in 2006. Sold to a museum in 2009. I wish I still had it. Onward and upward. Next project a 2007 for whenever it will qualify for judging. Quite a difference in Corvettes that are 61 years apart. It is like driving the 57 which is similar to pushing around a 29 Dodge dump, to a grand prix racer in the 2007.

That's exciting. Let us know when it's on the road again; photos too.
