    "I wished I would have" before the body drop. Please help with your stories.

    I have read some excellent list compiled for pulling the body or dropping it.
    This list is for the things not related to the drop itself. Just items that are often forgotten or unfinished before the body drop.
    A "I wished I would have" list!

    Feel free to add your comments / experiences;

    • Heater motor. Much easier than bending over the fender. Battery also has to be out to access this motor if it is installed after the body drop. Not everyone has the heater instilled to attach the motor but if you have it installed adding the motor is easy.
    • A arm shields. Motor, radiator and/or shrouding are all components that are in the way and it's a deep bend for the bottom ones. Do it first and save your back and paint.
    • Rear license plate light. Install the housing using the rearmost two bolts only The front screw can be installed after the body drop as the ground needs to be attached to it. It is the only screw that can be reached and then only if you have small hands.

    I realize this list will have may options based on the restorers time and room. However after the drop these are items I forgot.

      Much easier to R & R the wiper motor when body is off.

        Here is one of my many painful lessons learned. Did this one time...and only one time...67 vette...I put in the big bolt that holds the emergence brake cable white plastic idler wheel that is mounted on the frame cross member with the head on top instead of the bottom up. You can't get the wheel off later because there is no room to pull the bolt upwards. It hits the floor pan. I cut off the head of the bolt and welded it back on. We do anything to save an original bolt.....
