The C1 and C3 style clamp, currently known as GM #10096197, is still available from GM for about 2 bucks. This clamp will SERVICE all C2 as well. The C2 "wire" style clamp used with the retainers shown in your photo is probably available in reproduction.

I like the C1 and C3 style clamp much better. I expect that GM did, too. That's probably why they went back to it in 1968.

Is that a beer can tab? Maybe the original part was lost during a track or road side repair.
