Re: How to remove frozen C2 headlight assembly
Use a good penetrating oil like PB Blaster and soak all night. If that fails you can just take a hack saw blade and cut the shafts on both sides. They can be replaced. Probably whacking it with a small ball peen hammer on the ends where the motors were removed might help after soaking with PB Blaster.

Mike,
I have had good luck with the freeze type penetrants. The loctite version worked the best for me, but it is a little pricey.
The worst part will be trying to get in where it will do some good.

Re: How to remove frozen C2 headlight assembly
Most likely the big metal balls are stuck on the pivot shaft as well as the aluminum housings. The different metals may have interacted due to lack of lubrication. BP blaster is good on this type “freeze up” as stated above. But it will take time. Cutting is immediate. Loss of original parts but they may not be any good anyway.
Vendors offer Delrin balls to replace the metal originals. A good upgrade IMHO.- Top

Mike, I find once you can get a little movement up and down and many applications of penetrant will help free up. Place a towel under the area your spraying fiberglass is a sponge as you know.New England chapter member, 63 Convert. 327/340- Chapter/Regional/national Top Flight, 72 coupe- chapter and regional Top Flight.- Top
