    What happened to Quanta???

    guys I'm trying to get some frame resto products and have ordered many times from the folks at Quanta but I can't find them on the internet anymore. I mainly just need a green lumbar crayon. I ordered my chassis detailing kit so long ago that the crayon has dried out and I need a new one. anyone know where they went???

      Mike, The crayons don't dry all the way out. Get a razor blade and shave the first 1/4" off the crayon. What is under should work great after that.

              Scared me!

              Quanta is still in operation. Was just on their site on-line. Gastanks.com. Saw a notice they'll be in Carlisle. Had to call. Spoke to a nice lady. All is well as far as my future '66 gas tank goes!

                          70 and despite complaints here and I'm assuming with their technical support staff, they are oblivious to the defect.

                              What was wrong with the fit? I have their tank for my 69 and just about ready to lower the body. Is there anything I can do to help avoid problems?

                                  Mike,
                                  You're way ahead of me because the original straps are too short to make it around the tank. All of this even after adjustments to the seam with duckbill pliers and a ball peen hammer which leads me to believe the physical dimensions are not of OE spec.

                                          Unless something has changed, your '69 tank should fit perfect as mine did. I put a new Quanta tank in my '69 several years ago (body on) and it went in perfectly. Before the install I compared my original tank with the new one and could not find a single difference. I was very happy with the product.

                                              Ahhh yes I had a VERY tough time getting my straps around the tank also but eventually I managed to get it. It took the better part of a full day. This was probably the toughest part of the resto, believe it or not. Not sure if this is a factory thing or from the repro tank.

                                                      i've used quanta tanks for years in c-1, c-2 and c-3's. never had a problem with the tank fitting up in its "home". i usually re-use the original straps. mike
