also I would like to have the tank sticker verified by the NCRS , how long does this process take? I'll attach a picture of the sticker here for any opinions.

69 L-71 authentication
I'm having a car inspected for me tomorrow, by a member in California, I'm more familiar with mid years, just wondered what to look for on a 69, that would have been present from the factory, on an L-71 car? Do C3 s have a label on the back of the instrument cluster, like C2s, any other clues would be appreciated.

Yes, C3's do have a label on the back of the gauge panel. However, a gauge panel could certainly be transferred from one car to another.
From a cursory look, the tank sticker appears authentic to me.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: 69 L-71 authentication
Thanks for the replies , any idea what the two letter code on the gauge label might be for a 6500 rpm redline?, I was hoping I might get a bit more info here on what to look for, I'm getting the car inspected today. I'm assuming one would look for TI ignition ( was this mandatory with L-71 in 69 ?) F-41 suspension, would the front sway bar be 15/16" as in 67 ? Rear sway bar , caps on the half shaft u-joints, is there anything different about the fuel line like the 90 degree bend on a 67?- Top

I believe that TI was mandatory with 1969 L-71. F-41 was not a mandatory option with F-41. 15/16" front sway bar was used for all F-41. All original big blocks had a rear sway bar and cap-type stub axles. Any of these things can be rather easily added to any 1969, though.
All 1969's except those equipped with Holley carbs (i.e. L-68, L-71, L-88) had a 1/4" fuel return line. Holley carb applications did not.
Offhand, I do not know what the broadcast codes were for the various gauge clusters. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: 69 L-71 authentication
Very unfortunate but all-too-often the way it is. The 1969 alternators are among the rarest (and, consequently, expensive) of all Corvette alternators and I'm not just talking about "numbers". The 1969 alternators have drive end and split ring end case halves which are unique to 1969 and, possibly, very early 1970.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Well, dodged a bullet there, submitted the tank sticker in to the document validation service, Tim Gilmore was awesome, he jumped on it right away and sure enough it's a fake. Thanks to Tim, and fellow NCRS member Micheal Gorosh, who was kind enough to inspect the car for me .- Top

Re: 69 L-71 authentication
They are among the rarest. There might be a few in the Corvette world that are rarer. However, those are primarily rare due to "numbers" and not configuration. Some of the 1970-71 are equally rare, mostly due to numbers but also configuration. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
