    New fire extinguisher

Jay Leno had a guy on selling these. Looked pretty good in the video. I bought the 50 second one for the vette, and one for the Model A. I also got the magnetic holder to mount under the glove box. Hides pretty well. Hope I never have to use it!

No UL label, no purchase for me.

The product's web site "claims" its because the product doesn't come in a traditional metal cylinder with a gauge....so UL doesn't even consider it a candidate for testing...

      Anyway, that's what they say....

UL's rating system rates the effectiveness of the product, not how pretty or ugly it is

It is hard to tell from the photos, but in judging I have seen some fire extinguishers not get the points because they are too small. The usual powder units leave a mess behind and Halon can be problematic on a windy day. It would be interesting to know what the active ingredient in these is.

I agree - I'm not a purchaser at this point....
I'll keep my Halitron behind the passenger seat in its $6 Velcro harness...

Potassium. Supposedly interrupts the "fourth side" of the fire triangle. For those interested in the theory: https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/30...67154874779486

Interesting. Purple K (Well known, very effective, extinguishing agent for liquids), is Potassium bicarbonate.

And expensive. I have a 30# Purple K in my shop.
