    3-Lamp Flasher for 2-Lamp car?

    Hi all,

I think I just got an answer that with only two lamps, there isn't enough resistance for the flasher to activate. But now my question now is what is the THIRD LAMP that a three-lamp flasher works on?

    Thanks,

    Bob

    Hi all,

I have several three-lamp flashers that I assumed would work in a two-lamp car. These are two-prong. But i plugged several into my '60 and the light comes on when I turn the turn signal to the left or right, but no flashing. These are all NOS, so I can't believe they are all bad. So, does a three-lamp flasher work in a two-lamp car or only in a three-lamp car?

    Thanks,

    Bob

How about a car with 1 front turn lamp and 2 rear turn/brake lamps on each side..... such as some Corvette models

      Use a 2 prong
LED specific flasher without any problems.

Maybe a three lamp flasher is for one in the front, one in the rear and one on the instrument cluster? What do you think on that?

If you have 1157s in your parking and tail lights, the correct flasher (Signal Stat ZN232 for 58-60, and ZN332 for 61-62) will not work correctly. In my case, the lights wouldn't flash at all. However, Tridon flasher LL552 will work just fine with 1157s. You can buy this LL552 flasher at your FLAPS for around $6. You can swap out the Tridon flasher for the correct flasher after Operations judging and before interior judging.
