I have a 1978 without intermittent wipers.
The TM/JG says that when the wiper switch is pushed for washer "in the off position", the wipers will sweep 3 to 5 times and go to park position.
When I push the switch in, it simultaneously goes to the low speed position, same as if the switch was pushed up to activate the wipers without using the washer. The wipers are now full on low and are not going to park automatically.
Also, I am not able to push the switch down to get the mist function.
My interpretation of the TM is that all wipers would have these two functions regardless of whether they have intermittent or not. However, this is a 2800 mile car the switch does not have the feel of being broken; I believe it is working properly.
So my question is: Did the "base" wiper system have or not have the wash/auto-park and mist functions?
Thanks,
Charlie
