RPO 276 wheels
I am getting ready to mount tires on my rims and am wondering if i need to use tubes in the tires because of the rivets. Did these rims originally use tubed tires. I have also heard there could be a bead issue with these rims. I'm planning on using Vredestein classic tires 215/70 R15 98W. I'd appreciate your advice and experience.

They don't appear to be original RPO 276 wheels so my recommendation would be to apply RTV over each rivet. That will prevent any air leakage. Original 276 wheels did not have inner tubes but did have an oversized valve stem.- Top

Re: RPO 276 wheels
Good choice on tires for a vintage Corvette. Everyone should take notice. Notice that they have a W speed rating - 168 MPH, so they should be adequate. I saw a set (different size) on a beautifully restored Allard at a recent cars and coffee.
I know that George Jerome installed a set on his '65 FI Coupe to replace the 15-year old Pirelli P6000s, and he is very happy with them.
Where did you buy them and what was the price?
