      It is ZINC plated first then it is an OLIVE Chromate - passivation of the ZINC.

              Steve, These pictures are from a July '72 survivor. All parts; the bar and both brackets are black.

                  I've seen the link as green and I've seen it as black. I think either is correct.
                  But, that's just me.

                  The bracket I only recall as black.
