    Fiberglass Matt

I just had to grind off a section of 2 layers of fiberglass matt that I had laid down on the front fender of my 59. There were a bunch of pin and larger holes after the resign had cured. I don't have much experience with the matt, as I have always used the cloth. There is a dip in the fender and I was trying to build up the surface with the matt.
Does anybody have any suggestions as to what I did wrong to get the holes?

Coat the spot with resin that you are putting the mat on. Then coat the under side of the mat. Lay the mat on the repair spot and coat the top side of the mat. Roll it with a roller designed for this purpose.

After you put down the layers of matt and your resin you cover your repair with wax paper you take a squeegee and you press the squeegee Into the wax paper and force any air and bubbles out of your mat you let it cure with the wax paper on top, after it hardens you can just pull the wax paper off and you Will have no air bubbles.

        grind sand the surface smooth
        lay fresh glass down
use a fiberglass roller to get your air bubbles out and soak the glass

Thanks guys for your replys. I have placed an order for a roller for use on fiberglass and will try the procedures that you have suggested.
