need to know about judged early 1957 ink date stamps on housings of gauges ...
do they include the month, day, year, or just month and year??

thanks for the reply... great picture. Question, were the other gauges stamped or just the tach? Also, what is the number above the date?
while I'm at it...did the heater fan have a number stenciled in white on it? Many thanks!!

Ed,

On my '57, built 3/25/57, the only other gauge stamp is on the speedometer in a patch of green paint on the side. Date is clearly February 26, 1957.



The date on my tach is not as nice as David's:



But since it's not in the car, on the bottom of the tach I see a stamp that is otherwise not visible:



My heater has this upside down 2 stenciled by the motor:



And on the bottom of the casing for the heater core is stenciled what appears to be a 10:

Hi Ed , These pictures were taken of my 5 Star Bowtie car. Tack is the only place I could find a # 1548346-W followed by what I believe is a W
I have attached a Picture from the heater blower motor this also from the Bowtie car.

Leif Ink stamps are called out on the gauges in the latest 1957 judging manual. If you are lucky enough to get a judge that wants to go looking for them you will get a deduct.
