The new 1968-69 Judging manual states that the timing tab was masked of and not painted when the engine was sprayed, is it safe to say that the same would be true for a 1967 427 timing tab?

Joe, I believe that the tab was taped to cover the numbers only, the rest was painted. there were many other details when restoring and painting the engine. the timing tab was a very small part. many parts had lack of paint in many areas, and many over restore. its just a choice many make on there own.
