Need help identifying this under dash component

    Guys,

The item in the pics I attached was behind the dash of my 69 coupe non-AC car but I can't remember where it goes or what it does. Can anyone help me out?

That relay mounts to the back of the tachometer housing. It applies vacuum to the wiper door actuator when the windshield wipers are turned on by the wiper switch in the center of your dash. It turns the electrical signal from the wiper switch into a vacuum signal to the wiper door actuator.

Thanks Terry. You think it's advisable to replace it or can I just re-use it?

Also, I posted a question yesterday about the under dash sound deadener. Can you take a look?

The solenoid you pictured in this post is in a very difficult location once the dash is assembled. I would want to be sure that part worked and would have a long reliable life before I installed it. I am not sure what the replacement quality is, but I would want the best part I could get.

I looked at your thread about the sound deadener, and have no advice to offer. That is the reason I didn't comment.

Thanks Terry. I saw in the archives you once replied to a similar question and was hoping you might be able to help. No worries.
