Is this differential from a 66 or 67?

Hi, need some help here. Just purchased what I thought was a 67 FB differential and when I got home with it I am questioning it after I reviewed the cast number. Please see the photos, could this have been in a April 67 BB car? I know NCRS does not judge the differential but I still want it to be correct. Thank you for your time.

The carrier casting number 3876476 was used for L1965-67, so you have the correct casting number.

The casting date is a little difficult to discern as is often the case with casting dates. The "I 22" is clear which denotes September 22. The last digit (year) is less clear. It could be either a "6", "8", or "9". However, this case was not being manufactured in 1968 or 1969 so it pretty much has to be a "6". Therefore, the casting date is September 22, 1966. The assembly date is, according to the stamping, March 13, 1967. These dates are consistent as it's possible that there could have been this much time between casting of the case and its assembly into a completed differential carrier unit. It's a bit long, but I think it's very possible.

The carrier assembly date is very consistent with an April, 1967 built Corvette.
