1967 Trip Odometer

There is a black foam light shield/gasket inside the cluster that surrounds the trip OD, I replaced it but I believe it had adhesive on it to keep it attached and in position. I guessing that it had a peel-n-stick when initially installed, the reprop isn't.
Would contact cement be appropriate to use, or should I seek out some double sided cellophane type tape to use instead?

Don, I've used the very thin two sided cellotape/cellophane tape that you mention. worked well.
