Original C1 Distr Cap ?

Shouldn't this have some printing around the coil tower (like Delco Remy, etc) ? It does have the Delco imprint inside, though.
I'm strictly a C2 person, so have no reference manuals.

I'm not too versed on C1 issues, either. However, I think that a lack of "Delco" script on these caps was pretty common, if not always the case. I think the reason was that Delco once sold parts into the "off-brand" aftermarket, so they did not want their name prominently displayed on the parts.

However, if I recall correctly, the original D-305, GM #1917247 caps had copper or brass contacts, not aluminum as on this cap. So, I think this cap is a later SERVICE piece as also verified by the packaging.

D305 cap is a short cap with no writing on the outside of the cap. It was used on 245 and 270 HP cars (for example '61) with the 891 distributor. There were also small recessed circles between the towers.
