I believe the use of colored fuses began with, or during, the 1967 model year. Neither of my 65's had them.

SORRY, I responded without thinking, (Senior Moment). How would I remember what was replaced and with what 41 years ago. I just checked my removed original harness, and I have 5 fuses in the 6 slots (1 fuse missing). 4 fuses are stripped. I concluded in error. PS- For those that subscribe to VETTE magazine or don't - I have been given the privilege of having my car featured in the magazine's Barn Finds section. Interesting reading and I'm looking forward to driving my car for the first time in May or June after nearly 42 years. Jack J.

The original glass fuses were color stripe on the inside of the glass.

I think that they were out of use by ‘67, memory is not 100% but that is what I recall.

I had a few originals but not many different amperage/color ratings. Different colors were used for the various amperage.

Anybody have a amperage to color chart. Red yellow green seem to stick in my mind, I’m sure there are others to cover all amperage.

                    Re: striped fuses

Probably not relevant to Corvettes but to other GM vehicles, I have a Buss AGC 7 1/2 (Brown) and Buss AGC 15 (Light Blue).

Peter did a nice presentation on the fuses, very well done.
