    Ed, Good question.

I checked the AIM and ST-12. No torque spec in either one.

ST-12 simply states to "tighten" it. I usually give it a good strong tightening and hope it doesn't leak. If it does, I tighten more.

New copper washers are best, or as some have suggested, anneal the old(cleaned) washers with heat.

have found that using the aircraft EZTurn sealer with new washers work great to seal a C1 master cylinder. I use this on all brake & fuel line connections. https://www.aircraftspruce.com/catal...ezturnlube.php Available from a local aircraft supply house.

I have a tri-five Chevy with a master cylinder which has a banjo bolt. To the best of my memory, the torque spec for it is 65 ft-lbs. Assuming my memory isn't defective, I'd expect the torque for the Corvette master cylinder to be similar.

I found a chart online that says 1/2 inch banjo is 75 foot lbs.
