    Help Finding an Obscure Part

I'm installing new vacuum hoses in my 72 coupe. There is a yellow striped hose that connects the wiper vacuum relay to the steel pipe mounted on the firewall. On air conditioned cars that hose is cut and a 5/16 x 5/16 x 1/8 Tee fitting installed to attach another vacuum hose that connects to the a/c control on the console. I'm unable to find a replacement Tee fitting anywhere. I've spent hours online with no success.

I have searched the AIM and am unable to find a part number for that Tee. The only reference to that Tee I've been able to find is on UPC 60, page E4 at the bottom of the page in View B, along with the note stating to cut the hose. Unfortunately, there is no further information.

Any help with a part number, or a source for a replacement would be appreciated.

    Thanks, Mike

I finally found the part number for that Tee. UPC 1, page M3 shows it as part #3929022.

Anyone have a source for this?

Discontinued without supersession in 1980. Undoubtedly, extremely difficult to find. Dr. Rebuild probably has as close as you're going to get.

        Joe,

Thanks for the response. I checked Doc rebuild last night (before I found the part number) with no luck. However, after seeing your response I decided to take another look and found it. You're absolutely correct about these being very difficult to find.

It looks like Doc rebuild has decided to retire. He's got his business and all his cars advertised on his website. If that's true it will be a big loss to us all.

I have had very good luck watching e bay for hard to find parts. In this case you might buy an original used harness for that Tee. There are connectors that reproduction harnesses cannot duplicate or are no longer made.
