rubber nut for voltage regulator? c2

wondering about source for accurate repro of these rubber nuts for my 1965 convertible. Previous from Long Island Corvette , purchased 2-3 years ago, are too small and do not seat tightly in wheel well wall holes, which appear original.

    Thanks

Try Richard Fortier. He advertises in the DRIVELINE. He has a huge selection of original fasteners.....

Look in the Auveco or McMaster Carr catalogs. They are called well nuts

        John,
It's quite possible that the holes are original but wallowed out a bit. You might try cutting some electrical tape to the width of the rubber and wrap them one time to make them snug...that's all you need is snug not real tight. The three screws will not allow the V/R to go anywhere. Just a thought. BTW, I have used the LIC nuts in the past with no issues.

I thought mine from Paragon were too small in diameter as well but as I tightened them down they snugged up nicely. You might try that.

Well I did the electrical tape wrap. Not great for my tastes, but adequate. The LIC parts were quite a bit smaller than originals.

              John,
Well nuts are a common hardware store item (ACE for one). I can't say that they are the same as the VR on a C2 but I do know that they are the same as the original fender louver trim well juts on my '69. Can't hurt to have a look.

I can't remember the thread size but you may have to tap the threads to either coarse or fine, poor memory prevailing
