Need Teakwood Steering Wheel(N32) Info On 1966 Corvette

Is there any reproduction Teakwood Wheel that comes close to the original? I see where
Dr.Rebuild has a nice looking Repro. Does anybody have one of these? Is it close?

Some do but all can be spotted quickly in person if you know what you are looking for. With the price of reproductions now why not buy an original?

Who would be a reliable vendor for such an item?? From what I see for price it looks to me a reproduction is about 1/2 the price
of an original one. Sound correct?? Larry

The reproductions are clearly seen as such. The same can be said for simulated wood wheel and even the rosewood wheel used in the passenger cars. Buy a real one... I think a decent wood wheel is around $1000-$1200 today. The look, and feel of it is worth the price.

At one time, I believe there were three folks making excellent quality reproductions: Eric Freeman, Paul Graves and TeakMasters (who I think had the original drawings and any special fixtures). One from any of the three should be very very good.

However, contact Pancho about his inventory of used originals and compare the costs and benefits versus a search for a quality reproduction.

Hi Dan, you are correct however a original restored wheel is around $2000 and worth every penny.

Larry: Doug Graves does an excellent job on teak wheel restoration. Had him restore one for me a few years ago and it is just beautiful. Although he lives in Canada, 95% of his work comes from the US. He advertises in the Driveline and his number is 519-752-0780 email:douglas.graves@sympatico.ca. He also does reproductions that, in my opinion, are excellent.
