Question on vacuum lines to wiper door solenoid

Guys,

im trying to plug in all my wires/vacuum lines for dash install and I have a question about the ports on the wiper door solenoid on the back off the tach. Everything I can find on it shows only two vacuum lines to this solenoid, a blue hose that goes to one of the
manual override valves, and a yellow striped hose that presumably is the source vacuum. Although I believe the valve I have is the original, it has two "exit" ports on the side the blue striped hose is supposed to come from. Looking at the AIM it looks like maybe there is a plug on the other line but I'm not certain. Can anyone tell me if this is so? Please see attached pics.

Perhaps there is supposed to be a foam filter on this extra port? That's kinda what it looks like in some of the schematics and diagrams I have found. It's tough to get to if I get it wrong so any help is appreciated.

Yes, foam filter there. You have it right.

You may want to bench test that solenoid. Pain to get at once the dash is installed.

I have just gone through all the interior vacuum lines preparing to install the dash for my 69 L46. I had the same question regarding the "extra port" on the wiper door solenoid valve. Would a home remedy work ok on this? I was thinking about making my own piece of foam to go over the port. Any thing I should consider about doing this?
