    Lighter Element

Like everybody else I am looking for a good source for a Casco 63 Lighter Element for my 68 car. Bought a few off eBay but they don't work.....
    Let me know.
    Thanks.

One was. I also bought ones that were not. The NOS one just didn't work. The others looked perfect but also didn't work. Its the story of my life.......

Dean are you sure its not just a electric circuit issue, maybe a ground or power problem ? if you have a test light or volt meter you can use the side of the case as the ground and then just touch the center contact in housing, just be sure not to let the leads touch each other, you will blow the fuse.

Can't imagine a lighter element not working unless the heating coil is broken into two....or the circuit is bad. Use your Fluke meter (or other multimeter) to check the resistance or continuity of the heating coil.

I guess it is possible to be trying to use a Casco 63 element inside a lighter housing made for another type element. That could also be an issue. Chevrolet used a few different housings/element combinations over the years in various models of their lineup. Maybe over the years someone changed the original in your car.
