I am restoring the radiator assembly in my 71. The radiator is an original copper unit with a top fill spout. I painted the unit several months ago using the proper paint on the coil assembly but did not paint the top and bottom solid metal parts. They were not painted when I removed the radiator. I read somewhere that these parts of the radiator were left unpainted. Reviewing the Judging Guide to insure correct reassembly I can't find any reference about how the radiator should be painted. Am I correct leaving the top and bottom unpainted?
Thanks
Dan

Painted. The whole thing was painted at once.
I use the same Eastwood paint for all of it.Vice-Chairman (West), Michigan Chapter NCRS

Re: Painting the 71 C3 copper radiator
Just an FYI - The original Paint had a mild texture to it, and it was sort of an asphalt base. You could actually dig your nails into it. Many years ago I purchased some of the original paint that Harrison bought from the supplier they used to paint the radiators with after completion. Patrick is correct the whole radiator was painted."SOLID LIFTERS MATTER"- Top
