    Autographed items on judged cars

Never seen this addressed before but wondered if there was any consequence to having autographed items evident when car is being judged. I noticed several instances at Cincinnati Regional bringing this querie to post.

I cant speak for everyone but me but I would overlook it and take ZERO deductions.

I think there are more '65-'70 Shelby Mustangs that have their glove box door/dash autographed by Carroll Shelby than the ones that don't. And when judging, I think SAAC ignores it one way or the other.

It would require a large degree of testicular fortitude to deduct for Zora's signature on any Corvette.

If we deduct for luggage racks and right hand mirrors, to be consistent shouldn't we deduct for an autograph written on the car?

Would it be a deduction for CDCIF-Finish or condition?

I've seen a car with Zora's autograph on the exterior receive a full paint deduction, same as for pinstripes or other added decorative elements. In fact, it happened more than once to that car.

Me too, and others do too, my "Zora Duntov" autograph on my air cleaner top on my '66 took no deductions the last regional.

If some autographs don't warrant a deduction, for consistency with scoring an approved autograph list should be in the JG.

Yes, Duntov, Mitchell, Shinoda would make the short list. But what about Farrah, Bidon, Elvis, Leno, Nader, Goldwater, John Wayne, McQueen, Heston, the astronauts, race car drivers and other famous owners and influencers?

I can't believe that no one proposed this before. It is so obvious. I will be watching for this long overdue revision in the upcoming new JGs.

Absolutely, I would love to have Farrah's autograph on something, she was a great Covette fan......

I see plenty of interior deductions there, unless she is sitting in the seat. That would be a good candidate for the Concourse Class.

Now Terry, this is obviously a Concours Modified Class car.......
