C2 Scissor Jack

I have a scissor jack with an "A7" stamped on the side (see picture) I'd like to identify it along with buying the threaded shaft and bearing. Does anyone know where I can buy this shaft & bearing ?

The 'U" shaped bracket will have the captive nut on different sides depending if it a (Type I & II) or a type III)
I finally found the date stamp in the picture, its on the lower RH flat bar in the middle.
Early jacks were not dated but your stamping is the date would be the first of the dated jacks (January of 67. so that would be A7)
Do you have the old shaft? is it just missing or rusty/mangled?
A picture of the old shaft would help if you have it.

I didn't find the screw.
How about purchasing a reproduction jack and salvaging the screw and bearing?
The shaft could be manufactured by any machine shop but would likely cost more than the $250 they want for the reproduction jack.

If you can find a Corvair scissor jack made by AUSCO (stamped with the letter "A") the long screw should be the same. Corvair scissor jacks were also made by Ryerson & Hayner (stamped "RH" or 'RH INC") and the long screw may be slightly different. The only difference between a 1967 Corvette jack stamped "A" and a 1967 Corvair jack stamped "A" is the top part that adapts to the frame. Attached is a photo of a 1966 Corvette scissor jack. There is no date code stamping.

I'm by NO means a C3 guy, but i think bolt may be the same as those used in the 68 jacks. ARA

I've attached a picture of two shafts. The newer one came out of my 63 jack for comparison purposes. The other is the shaft that was in the 67 jack. Someone had to work awfully hard to break this shaft!

I suspect the shafts were close to the same length originally.
Since the force is in tension it is doubtful it was broken while in use.
I suspect it was shaft was frozen in the nut and it was a torque failure.
What is the shaft diameter and how many threads per inch?
I may look around to see what is available that could be easily modified for a repair/replacement.
Remember, all the current replacement jacks come with a warning, display purposes only.

It looks like from the bottom of one thread to the bottom of another within the inch is 6 threads. The shaft measures .5035.

Attached are 3 photos of 3 different scissor jack shafts.

The top 1/2" dia., 5 threads/inch shaft measures 14 3/4" long and is from a AUSCO scissor jack (stamped "A" on the top). The threaded part measures 8.6" with 43 threads......43/8.6 = 5 thread/inch.

The middle 1/2" dia. 5 threads/inch shaft (with the 3/4" hex "nut" removed) measures 14 9/16" long and is from a scissor jack made by RH INC. (stamped "RH" inside a circle). The pin that hold the 3/4" hex "nut" nut in place measures 1/4" in diameter and is 3/4" long.

The bottom 1/2" dia. 10 threads/inch shaft measures 14 9/16" long and is from a scissor jack made by RH INC. (stamped "RH" inside a circle).

Based on my research I believe that I need a similar shaft as the top one in the photos but one that measures 15 1/2" long with about 46 threads, more or less, for a 1963 Type I scissor jack. Is the 1963 jack shaft in your photo 15 1/2" long?
