Goat hill classics is who I was going to use... He advertises on the Camaro Research Group and I had not heard anything detrimental there.
Fred Ballard listed above has some excellent references if you look around.

I would rather install a Ford part than send anything to Goat Hill. They're in the same category as Chicago Corvette.

      Patrick,
Thanks for the tip. I was not aware there was a vendor that rebuilt the crimped fuel pumps. I have 8K40709 from my 71 Lt-1 #16798 that I will end him. Does anyone know how to decode the 8K on my pump.??.

        Google:

        Fred Ballard fuel pump
        or

I may have two of them to send out for rebuilding.

              Re: 1970 LT1 fuel pump

I have been told the LH date is November of 68. I find that hard to believe, but ... I have seen 68's with H date codes. So it must be right. I find it odd that the pumps were made that far ahead of time.
My early July 70 has a LH date. I have seen LH40709 used well into 71 LT-1 production, when they started the Julian date code. I would continue looking for a LH date.
Just be patient. One will show up.

                  Gary,
Any idea what date 8K on my pump might be. It's from my May 71 LT-1.

If H=1968, then K=1971? So, 8th day 1971 would be my guess. On a July built 71, probably right if a 68 date shows up on a mid-70 car.
Do you still have the pump Dave?

                            Dave,
With all the discussions of fuel pumps, of course, mine took to leaking -
                            1971 LT1 #21783 - 45,000 miles - carb built at 38,000 in 1986 nothing in the service records indicating a fuel pump -

After removing and cleaning I can make out 86K40709
I will be boxing and sending it to Mr Ballard as well.
