70 lt1 ti amp location.

I seem to remember there being different locations for the amp.

I didn't see it in the typical front driver wheelwell, inboard of the triangular bracket. Followed the harness out side that bracket, and I can barely see the amp, but can feel the cooling fins.

Also, the 3 triangular mounting nuts/studs are visable from the wheel side of the well.

Is this a common location as well? Seems it would be a pita to get out

The general location you describe is the only TI amplifier location I know of for any 1964-71 Corvette.

I have seen them so far outboard one can not see the amp. We judge them by braille. I have also seen one so far inboard that it rubbed a small notch in the hood. They appear to have been installed at the location the line worker chose.

Mine on the LT1 is located where it is almost invisible. The braille location. A 1970 ZR1, once owned by Sal C had the notch in the hood.

I haven't yet had a chance to look at the L89. It is too new to me.

I remember Sal's car. Actually, I remember Midi Miller posing with it in Vette Mag way back.

On my 71 the TI amplifier is 6" outward as well...



I recently worked on another member's 71 LT1 and it was in the position shown above... that is closer to the radiator.
