    Rear Spring Rubber Cushion,GM#3831586

Plan to replace existing rear leaf spring cushions on my '66 and read thru DB they are still available thru GM, part#3831586. Went on-line and placed order thru GM Parts Direct and GM Parts Center and informed they are on back order and no date given when available, so cancelled order. The cost is about $6 per rubber cushion. They are also available thru Ebay at about $20 per cushion.

Question, Paragon and Corvette Central carry this part for about $3 per cushion, is there much of a ride difference using the reproduction cushion from these suppliers vs. the GM part?

Order them immediately as they order them from GM. If they are out then GM has finally discontinued or run out of stock.

Or get them from Long Island Corvette. The rubber cushions is what you want, avoid the urethane ones.

Part number 3831586 is still available from GM. There are over 900 available at the GM warehouse in Lansing, Mich. as of today so it's not on back order.
The minimum order quantity is 10- there's 10 in a package so maybe that's why the parts direct order cancelled.

I replaced the order yesterday for 4 cushions and received email from GM Parts Center that order was completed and shipped, so mystery to me as to why last week they informed me it was on back order.
