    oil filter

Thank you to those who answered my last question. Now for a new one. It has been about three weeks since I purchased a '66 L79 convertible. The oil filter system has been changed from the original cartridge type to a spin on type. Could you please suggest what is the best brand filter to use and what is the product number.
    Thanks Much,
    Rob Goodrich

There are at least 2 types of conversions. One uses a Ford type filter (PH-1, as I recall) and the other uses a AC PF-25 series filter. The PH-1 has a thread size of 3/4-16. The PF-25 series has a thread size of 13/16-16. So, you need to determine which filter that your conversion uses.

I like the AC Delco PF25. Lots of different filters by various manufacturers will fit.

I prefer Baldwin B 1428 or a NAPA 1061. Both cross reference to a AC Delco PF 35.

Joe's right about two different possible threads on the conversion. You should be able to get the number off the filter currently installed and cross reference it. If you are bringing car to correct config you should consider changing back to the original canister and cartridge system.

Baldwin or WIX is all I use. Higher quality internals.

If you need some help cross Referencing the filter I will be glad to help. I do this for a living...

On daily drivers I use AC PF 932 or the Wix equivalent 51794. I like the extra capacity

The NAPA or Wix are quality and easy to find.

If you buy NAPA get the NAPA Gold filter
